“Ideally, a review displays generosity of spirit while also delivering honest assessment of a book’s strengths and weaknesses” according to Dr. Carloyn Eastman in her article “In Defense of the Beleaguered Academic Book Review”. Instead, what we’re left with so often nowadays are scant reviews full of opinion and lacking any attention to craft. I’ve committed this small corner of the internet to contributing to book reviews as they can be, from myself and a small team of dedicated readers.
