I’m a world-building, romance-addicted fantasist obsessed with the beauty, awe, and mystery of our natural environment.
Where it all began…
Reading has always been my favorite activity. Some of my earliest memories are carrying mountains of books to the librarian at my local branch.
But it wasn’t until high school, and a fortunate stroke of friendship with a talented writer, that I ever considered that I could write a book myself. My plans for culinary school and chefdom were chased away by the unshakeable appeal of a career cozied up with words and books.
15+ years later, here I am writing the bio for my author’s website. It’s not my first website or blog. I never truly could abandon my love for food, and I’m proud of the food writing career I’ve built over the last 10 years. Working with various clients, Mashed.com, and my own blog, The Flour Handprint (which is still running strong!), has been a life-molding experience.
But I’ve also discovered an essential thing: I am incomplete without my fiction. So here’s to hoping I can recreate success. Eight years ago, I started a food blog, desperate to earn an income writing. Now, I’m launching this website, determined to remind myself every day that I am a writer and I have something to say.
